What is Galentine’s Day? Well, the short answer is that it’s a holiday celebrated on February 13th centered on ladies celebrating ladies. It became popular once introduced on NBC’s show, Parks and Recreation, in which Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler) hosts a lavish brunch to celebrate and enjoy the female friendships in her life.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner (literally, it’s tomorrow), it’s important to remember the other relationships in your life too, not just the one between you and your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife. Also, do you really need an excuse to hang out with your friends and grab some snacks and cocktails?
The point is, friends are important. Think about it, we have mother’s day, father’s day, grandparent’s day, etc. so why can’t we have a dedicated day just to celebrate our friends? That’s what Galentine’s Day is all about!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Galentine’s Day full of laughter, delicious snacks, and friendship. #ladiescelebratingladies
